Sultan Al Jaber, the head of the global climate talks starting in Dubai this week, has strongly denied using the COP28 presidency to make oil and gas deals, Bloomberg reported.

The fact that he had to address these accusations (based on leaked documents by a whistleblower) speaks to the seriousness of the situation. How and if it will affect the final outcome is to be seen.
