The New York Times explores why the option to phase out "unabated" fossil fuels is brewing fierce debate at the UN climate talks in Dubai even with the support of the U.S. and UAE.

A most timely article because it reminds us that phasing out unabated fossil fuel use might allow countries to continue burning oil, coal and gas with costly controls to capture emissions.
