The battery industry appears tantalizingly close to developing a silicon-based anode battery, which would be a monster leap forward for EVs, reports Steve Levine in The Information.

As Steve notes, the battery industry has made incredible strides but few monumental leaps. If these prove commercially viable, it would be the latter.
