The White House pauses approvals for several LNG export applications until the Energy Department updates the impacts these exports will have on climate, national security and markets, CNN reports.

The assessment is long overdue since it was last done in 2018. Notably though, the pause won't affect LNG supplies to countries in Europe and Asia.
