Parts of the country that are heavy in oil and natural gas and politically conservative support hydrogen alongside more liberal regions with cleaner energy, The Wall Street Journal reports.

One expert is quoted saying hydrogen is popular largely because it’s so new on the scene and has had less time to generate controversy, which I tend to agree with.
