The U.S. announced it would require oil and gas producers to find and fix leaks of methane, a particularly powerful greenhouse gas associated with fossil fuel production, the New York Times reported.

Methane, barely discussed before COP26 two years ago, has become a top focus of this year’s gathering in Dubai with fossil fuel producers in the spotlight.
