BP said on Friday its overall carbon emissions climbed in 2023 for the first time since 2019 as the company started up new oil and gas projects and increased production levels, Reuters reported.

Not great, of course, but the article also notes BP is nonetheless largely on track to reduce its Scope 3 and operational emissions by 2025 and 2030 from 2019 levels.
