Hundreds of climate activists blocked a major highway in Amsterdam last week, demanding an immediate end to financing of fossil fuel projects by the country's largest bank, Reuters reported.

The bank previously said it would stop financing oil and gas projects by 2040. Protesters say that's too late. The bank says sooner isn't realistic. It's a classic energy transition tension.
